Welcome! My name is Ashley Prax. I am so grateful to be entering my 3rd full year of teaching music here at Saint Johns. After growing up in this school, K-8, and having the staff (many of whom are still here today!) teach me, to now, having them help me become the teacher I am means so much. Not only does the staff strive to make kids strong and confident humans; we also help push each other and make each other better. Being surrounded by such support and kindness is what makes this place so special and so worth coming back to. The love is felt the second you walk through the doors.
Professional Background: I graduated from the University of Wisconsin - River Falls in the spring of 2024. I have a bachelor’s degree in Music Education.
When I am not at school, I spend time with my friends, reading, or, more than likely, shopping! I also love performing, so you could find me at a coffee shop, with my friend Hannah, singing and playing your favorite hits.
Educational Philosophy: I believe that every student enters the classroom inherently talented and capable of finding success in music, whether through singing, playing an instrument, or creating their own works. Success in music extends far beyond vocal performance, and my goal is to provide diverse opportunities so every learner can discover their unique musical voice. By fostering an environment that assumes potential while also pushing students past their own limits. I want to empower them to build confidence, experience meaningful achievement, and leave my classroom with a lifelong, positive joy for music.
