Welcome!

I feel truly grateful to be part of the Saint John’s community. The students, families, and staff make Saint John’s such a welcoming and special place, and I feel incredibly fortunate to be part of a community that is so supportive and dedicated to its students.

Professional Background
I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota and a Master’s Degree in Reading Instruction from the University of St. Thomas. These experiences have helped shape me as an educator and have deepened my passion for literacy, learning, and helping every child find success.

Personal Interests
Outside the classroom, I love spending time with my husband, Justin, our daughter, Layla, and our black lab, Tito. Becoming a mom has been one of the greatest joys of my life! As a family, we love spending time outdoors—whether it’s fishing (ice and open water!), hunting, or relaxing at our family’s cabin. I’m also an avid reader and can often be found with a good book by the lake.

I also serve as an assistant coach for the Saint John’s volleyball team. As a former athlete, I love staying connected to the sport and having the opportunity to support our student-athletes both on and off the court.

Educational Philosophy
I believe that every child has the ability to learn, grow, and reach their full potential. My classroom is a place where students are encouraged to take risks, embrace mistakes, and view challenges as opportunities for growth. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and joyful environment where students develop confidence, resilience, independence, and a genuine love for learning.

Just as I hold myself accountable for continued growth, I encourage my students to strive to be better than they were yesterday—academically, socially, and personally.
