Loren Egan

Welcome: 
Hello! My name is Loren Egan, and I am proud to be the Physical Education teacher at Saint John’s. My children and I are so grateful to have found the Saint John’s community.  It has been an incredible place to teach, grow, and be part of such a wonderful school family. I am truly thankful for the opportunity to work with our students and look forward to continuing to help them grow through physical education, teamwork, and an active lifestyle.
 
Professional Background: 
I grew up attending Catholic schools throughout the Twin Cities, which gave me a strong appreciation for Catholic education and the sense of community it provides. I am a graduate of Augsburg University and began my teaching career at Saint Alphonsus, the same school I attended as a student. I was fortunate to teach there for eight years before making the transition to Saint John’s.
 It is hard to believe that I am now beginning my fifth year at Saint John’s! I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to continue my career in Catholic education and to be part of the Saint John’s community.
 
Education Philosophy: 
My education philosophy is built around four pillars: Fun, Fitness, Faith, and Family/Friends. I believe education, and especially physical education, should help students grow not only physically, but also socially, emotionally, and personally. I believe physical education is about much more than simply being active. It is an opportunity to help students develop confidence, teamwork, perseverance, and a lifelong appreciation for taking care of their bodies. My goal is to create a positive and inclusive environment where every student feels successful, valued, and encouraged to try their best.
