Welcome!
Hello! My name is Maddy Maietta, and I’m so excited to be teaching second grade again this year at Saint John’s. This is my fourth year working at St. John’s and my second year as a second grade teacher. As a proud alumna of St. John’s, it is a joy and a privilege to give back to the school that played such an important role in shaping who I am today.
I’ve been part of Catholic education my entire life—attending St. John’s, Hill-Murray School, and the College of St. Scholastica. I’m grateful to continue that tradition as an educator in a faith-filled, values-based community.
Professional Background
I graduated summa cum laude from the College of St. Scholastica in 2021 with a bachelor’s degree in biology. I went on to complete my graduate teaching licensure program there in 2024, and I’m currently working toward my Master of Arts in Teaching, which I expect to complete in December 2025. Each year at St. John’s brings new opportunities to grow as a teacher, and I’m grateful to be part of a school so dedicated to academic excellence and faith-filled learning.
Teaching Philosophy
I believe learning is a lifelong journey, and that journey begins with a strong foundation. My goal is to foster a warm, welcoming classroom where students feel safe, valued, and inspired to ask questions. I strive to nurture independent, confident, and critical thinkers who will carry a love of learning with them throughout their lives.
