Abby Kantor

Welcome!
My name is Abby Kantor. I am so excited to be joining Saint John's as a 3rd grade teacher this year! I am looking forward to an amazing year in this new community as I learn more about being part of a catholic school and how I can support the growth of our students.

Professional Background:
I graduated from MSU-Mankato in the winter of 2023 with an Elementary Education degree. Since earning my degree, I have taught Kindergarten and 1st grade in Minnesota. I also spent 1 year teaching 3rd grade in Oklahoma. I have enjoyed working with each age group as they all have something special about them and have taught me different skills.

When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my fiancé and our two puppies. We love going for walks, traveling and playing board games. 

 Education Philosophy:
I believe that students learn best when they feel safe, supported, and valued. I strive to create a classroom where students are encouraged to take risks, make mistakes and learn from them. I provide high expectations with the guidance and encouragement to succeed.

Beyond academics, I am passionate about helping students develop confidence, resilience, empathy, and strong social-emotional skills. Our classroom community is one where students feel they belong, believe in their abilities and become responsible members of the community.
